Perioral Lines (Upper Lip Lines) Treatment
Definition and causes:
Perioral lines appear on the top of the upper lip mainly as a result of the activity of orbicularis oris and
age-related degenerative changes in the connective tissue of the skin,
including breakdown of collagen and elastin.
Treatment:
Perioral
lines can be filled with small volume of dermal filler. Combination of
dermal fillers and wrinkle relaxing injections may be a better option
for deeper perioral lines. Other treatments, such microneedling, can
also be a treatment option or add on treatment. Treating the lip border
with dermal filler can further complement perioral lines treatment.
